Abstract

Purpose - This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the influence of capital structure, growth opportunities, and financial performance on firm value. Design/methodology/approach - This study utilizes quantitative data and relies on secondary data sources. The study population consists of 89 mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2020 and 2024. The sample comprises 26 mining sector companies listed on the IDX during the same period. The total number of observations in this study is 130. Multiple regression analysis, performed using EViews9 software, is the technique employed to test the hypotheses. Findings - The results of this study indicate that the capital structure variable has a positive and significant effect on firm value. The growth opportunity variable has a positive but insignificant effect on firm value. The financial performance variable, proxied by profitability, has a positive but insignificant effect on firm value. Research Limitations/Implications – This study aims to provide information regarding firm value, offer benefits for decision-making, and serve as a reference for future research. Originality/Value - Numerous studies have been conducted on firm value, yet the results remain inconsistent. Furthermore, variations in study periods and the indicators employed have contributed to these diverse findings. Such discrepancies give rise to a research gap that warrants further investigation. Consequently, this study aims to examine capital structure, growth opportunities, and financial performance, focusing on mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period.
