Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to determine the raw material inventory control at PT. Indonesia Chemi-con and its smooth production process. Raw material inventory control is the provision of materials with the required quantity and quality at the time and place needed in the production process. This study uses a documentation method that analyzes and reports on the state of the company being analyzed, so that it can provide a clear picture of the problem under study to be able to determine raw material inventory control in supporting the smooth production process. The results of data collection conclude that raw material inventory control and QC checking in determining, inspecting and handling raw materials that will enter the production area can support the smooth production process. QC is divided into four parts, namely: QC Adm, QC Incoming, QC in-process and QC Final. In this case checking the initial arrival of incoming QC is very influential in the continuity of raw material supplies in the production area, the Incoming QC task starts from the initial arrival of raw materials, checking raw materials, unloading and taking samples of raw materials and supplying raw materials into the production area. This is indicated by the existence of standards relating to the supply of raw materials that have been well defined. There are several problem findings, namely many raw materials that do not comply with company standards. The author also provides some suggestions for dealing with obstacles.
