Abstract

In business, the distributor is a party that plays an important role and is responsible for all the process of distributing goods. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the Bullwhip Effect before applying the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method to Sunco's cooking oil distribution at PT Bukit Inti Makmur Abadi with the formulation of the problem What is the Bullwhip Effect value after applying the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method to cooking oil distribution Sunco at PT Bukit Inti Makmur Abadi. The research method uses a qualitative research method design by entering the object, by reading various written information, pictures, thinking and seeing objects and activities around the research site, there will be interactive question and answer to answer the problem formulation. The results showed that there were differences in the results with a comparison of the Bullwhip Effect (BE) value before and after the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method was used at the Jember Depot and Malang Depo, then for the Madiun Depot where the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method was not applied significant change. The conclusion stated that the value of the Bullwhip Effect (BE) was still > 1.01, namely there was a strengthening of demand and this could be caused by inaccurate demand forecasting, price increases and limited warehouse capacity. These things can be minimized by applying the Distribution Requirement Planning method to Sunco's cooking oil distribution activities at PT Bukit Inti Makmur Abadi, theefore the result is that the application of DRP can increase productivity.
