Abstract

The performance gap of the Bekasi City KPU is evident from the performance measurement of the 2024 IKU at the Bekasi City KPU secretariat, with most targets set at 90% to 100%, while some of the 2024 IKU targets for the Bekasi City KPU are only set at 5% to 25%. The KPU of Bekasi City still uses manual attendance tracking, and employees face high workloads due to overlapping schedules between the general elections and local elections. This study aims to determine the influence of work discipline and workload on the performance of KPU employees in Bekasi City. This study uses a quantitative approach. The study employs a saturated sampling method, where the entire population serves as the sampel. The statements were distributed via a questionnaire to the whole population of Bekasi City KPU employees, totaling 32 respondents, through electronic media. The questionnaire consisted of 19 statements. The analysis in this study used multiple regression analysis. The researcher utilized SPSS software version 27 to analyze the research results. The results of this study found that: 1. Work discipline partially has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a calculated t-value of 3.076 > t-table 1.699 and a significant t-value of 0.005 < 0.05, thus accepting the hypothesis; 2. Workload partially has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a calculated t-value of 2. 060 > t table 1.699 and a significant t value of 0.048 < 0.05, thus accepting the second hypothesis, and 3. work discipline and workload simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a calculated F value of 9.611 > F table 3.33 and a significant F value of 0.001 < 0.05, thus accepting the third hypothesis. The coefficient of determination (R²) has an R² value of 0.399 or 39.9%, meaning that the independent variables, namely work discipline and workload, can explain 39.9% of employee performance. In comparison, the remaining 60.1% is explained by other variables not addressed in this study.
