Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style and work discipline on the performance of outsourced employees in the VIP Project J&T Express in Bekasi City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling method and multiple linear regression analysis. The population in this study consists of 71 people, including 30 regular employees and 41 outsourcing employees. The sample in this research is 41 respondents, who are outsourcing employees involved in the VIP project. The sampling technique used is saturation sampling, as the entire population is included in the study sample. Data processing was conducted using SPSS version 27. Based on the results of the partial test (t-test), it was found that leadership style does not have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 0.043 < t-table 2,024 and a significance value of 0.966 > 0.05. Therefore, the first hypothesis is rejected. Meanwhile, work discipline has a positive and significant effect on the performance of outsourced employees, with a t-value of 9.034 > t-table 2,024 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so the second hypothesis is accepted. The simultaneous test (F test) shows that leadership style and work discipline together have a significant effect on the performance of outsourced employees, with a calculated F value of 42.713 > F table 3.24 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The magnitude of the contribution of the two variables to performance is indicated by the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.692 or 69.2%, meaning that the remaining 30.8% is influenced by other variables outside the research model. The regression equation obtained is Y = 18.732 − 0.624X₁ + 2.482X₂ + e.
